Brand Touchpoint

Any moment where a person interacts with or encounters a brand, from a website visit to a packaging unboxing to a customer service call.

A touchpoint is anywhere the brand shows up. The website, the app, the email, the invoice, the packaging, the social media post, the customer support chat, the loading screen, the error page. Each one is a chance to reinforce the brand identity or break it. Linear's brand identity works because every touchpoint, including the changelog and the docs, looks like it came from the same team. Most brands nail the homepage and forget the rest. The unglamorous touchpoints are where consistency actually lives. Mapping your touchpoints is the first step to auditing your brand identity. List every place your brand appears, then check whether each one tells the same story. The gaps will be obvious.
