Mood Board
A curated visual collection of images, textures, colors, typography, and references used to define a brand's aesthetic direction before detailed design begins.
A mood board is alignment insurance. It gets stakeholders, designers, and clients on the same visual page before anyone opens Figma. The best mood boards are tight and opinionated, 15-25 references that all point in the same direction, not 50 images that cover every possible aesthetic. They should answer the question 'what does this brand feel like?' in a single glance. Loose, unfocused mood boards lead to loose, unfocused brands.
