Heritage Brand
A brand with a long history, often spanning decades or centuries, that carries significant visual weight, tradition, and established recognition.
Heritage brands often have a rich story and established visual language that reflects their legacy. Think of brands like Coca-Cola or Levi's, whose marks evoke a sense of tradition and enduring quality. When designing for these brands, it's important to consider how new marks or updates can honor their tradition without erasing their history. While minimalism can be a tool, sometimes these brands require more ornamental or detailed marks to convey their deep roots and established trust, contradicting a purely minimalist approach. Stripping a heritage brand's logo to a simple geometric shape can inadvertently erase the visual narrative that has been built over generations.
